Kitchen Magic: Strawberries and Watermelon

Strawberries

The planet associated with Strawberries is Venus; its element is water; and its energy is geared to love.
Strawberries  are native to both the Americas and Europe.  They are sacred to the Norse goddess Freya, who is associated with primal female power and cats.  She is a powerful spiritual entity who can be called upon for healing and for enhancing fertility and reproduction.
The following recipe is one of our favorites from my own kitchen:

Strawberry Salad
You will need:

2 (3oz.) boxes strawberry jello
1 cup boiling water
2 (10oz.) boxes frozen strawberries, thawed
1 can crushed pineapple
1 package Dream Whip
1 package cream cheese
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts

How to do:
Dissolve jello into water.  Add the pineapple and strawberries (with the juice).  Refrigerate.  Make the topping which includes the Dream Whip, cream cheese, and sugar.  Top with nuts.

Watermelon

Ruled by the moon with water elements, this fruit is useful for healing. It is native to Africa and was brought to our continent during the smuggling of slaves from this land to America. The watermelon was introduced to Egypt in about 2000 BCE (Before the Common Era). Ancient Egyptians mixed watermelon juice with wine and gave this drink to ill persons who were believed to be possessed by illness-causing demons. It was mythologically related to Set, and Egyptian women may have eaten watermelon in prescriptions designed to cause weight gain.

In Hawaii, watermelons are sometimes rolled out of the house through the front door to ease the spirit of a deceased person into the next world. Watermelon is sacred to the goddess Yemaya in the various manifestations of the Yoruba religion.

Healing Recipe...

Yet, nothing is more refreshing on a hot summer day than ice-cold watermelon! This is a healing fruit and like all melons, the scent alone is also beneficial to healing! :D

Spices and Herbs: The folllowing spices and herbs can be used in recepies when healing is needed and this is your intention when preparing the dishes ---> allspice, garlic (NOT garlic salt!), peppermit and Sage.

Apple Crips
(serves 4)
You'll need:

2 cups of apples, peeled and sliced
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 cup of honey
1/2 to 3/4 cup graham crackers, crushed
2 tblsp of butter, melted

PREHEAT OVEN TO 375 DEGREES F

How to do it
Visualize yourself in glowing, radiant health as you peel and slice the apples, squeeze the juice and crush the graham crackers.

Turned prepared apples into a 9x9 baking dish. Mix the lemon juice into the honey and pour over the apples. If the apples are very tart, use slightly less lemon juice and slightly less honey. Combine the crumble graham crackers with the butter and springle over the apples. Bake at 375 for 30-40 minutes, or until the apples are tender. Serve topped with cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
