9th Grade Goes Against Humanity

Today it was an exciting day at the Hogwarts castle. We started off the day with 8th grade going on a heated house-on-house spelling tournament. Gryffindor made a stunning comeback after being dead last. Students are really getting into this, and they daily approach the board to see if I have place the day's points.

Next, I had a class with 9th grade. As promised, I brought my bootleg version of Cards Against Humanity. I printed out the cards from this website and brought them to class. I warned them that the dynamics of the game were rather nasty and that if they felt offended in any point we would stop the game. I seriously take for granted my 9th graders. They have the sickest, most perverted minds I have had the pleasure of teaching.

Next, 7th grade. I was really proud of them by getting all the spelling questions right and to see that two of my most lagged students are picking up the pace.

After recess, it was time to rehearse the school dance thingie. I am rehearsing with 9th and 8th grades (the 7th grade advisor didn't want his kids to join mine) and we are dancing to Ojala que Llueva Cafe en el Campo, the Cafe Tacvuba version. It's really funny to see them get all hyper over it. I never thought that dancing folklorico style was in them. Them -- including my niece.

So tomorrow is September 16th.Really not much to celebrate, but it's school day out. My dad promised to make tripitas today and my friend Angie and myself are going to have breakfast tomorrow at Denny's. Not really looking forward to spend time with gloomy Angie (she doesn't cope with death very well and I believe her mood is rather depressive since Luis' passing and all) but -- Lumberjack Breakfast. 'Nuff Zaid.

Intermediate Thoughts

I really should start giving this blog a follow up. I promised myself to do the 30 days of music thingie and I only did two days! xDDD

In some news, it is sad that my friend Luis passed away. I must admit, I did cry a little bit over him passing, but then found some sort of weird comfort in knowing that even though he fought like a dog vs cancer, it is better that he is no longer in pain and giving Jesus a wedgie. He was always a fun guy to be around (at least the few times I was around him) and I must admit, feel sort of proud to have spanked him twice. I will always remember him with a smile.

In school related topics...

I have started a new cycle at the ICM and I am once again teching Engligh to 7, 8, 9th grades. My nephews are here and one of them is in 9th grade. I was very happy to see that she immediately bonded with the group.I also am the English Coordinator, which means my life span has seriously dropped, like ten more years.

As such, I decorated my classroom -- correction, I took over another teacher's room, like a fungus, and decided this was my new turff. Up went the decorations HARRY POTTER THEMED. And at first I thought my students weren't going to like them, nor the idea that they had to be sorted into houses, but the general claim has been that they love it, so much infact that they have made me promised to brin a sorting hat next time.

I owe you people pics, but the intention was that the classroom was like this one...

My father decided to close the store and dedicate his life to reading, traveling the city, and now he wants to start a blog. I also promised that next time I can get him a stationary computer he can start it and even get his own Facebook page. I can imagine he'll get  a gazillion followers and become the next internet celebrity. <3 nbsp="" p="">
NFL season has begun. Packers won their first game. I intent to keep score of this. Next Sunday they go vs the Seahawks. GoPackers!

Tomorrow I play cards against humanity with my 9th grade class. Let's see how that fiasco goes.

Days in...

Today I was thrilled to go shopping for my mother. I think I like being surrounded by produce, by some odd reason. I like to nom on the veggies while I am choosin whether to buy them or not. Mostly, I like looking at stuff. I like looking at things I would love to buy but my stupid OCD never lets me to buy it. I also miss the fire-like cheetos they used to sell at S-Mart. I used to get those at the old house and eat them with cream and/or nacho cheese. When I was hungry at 3 am or when I was calmly at home during  a lazy Sunday afternoon. I sort of miss that.

Next Friday I will go with my 9th graders to celebrate Student's Day. They decided that they wanted to go to the pool. And since they have to be protected with plastic, they rented a private place. I woul dhave loved it if we went to San Jorge or another public pool. It's much more fun to share..

Alas! This is something they will have to explore some other time! Also, David Letterman broadcasts his final show tonight. I never watched his show. I never found him funny. At all.

 For now, it's day three...

Oh no, Heaven Knows...!

I really would like to take a moment here and say that even though hell and high water are arriving into town, into people's lives and into other not so grateful news, I really don't feel a bit empathic towards them. And I feel bad, I do. Children killing children, indiference swimming about. It's like a world social climate boom... I don't know. Maybe I'm just too disconected to the real world because I have to or else I go crazy, maybe I'm just denying in order to continue living in aworld away from the world. Too many personal problems to care about the other's. Too many scars to carry around yours.

Bleh!

Angie and I had sushi yesterday and we were sort of shocked to see how we both cannot stop being friends. We're always in each other's  minds and hopes for a happy future. I am glad she has found an enjoyable work. And I am slowly working on to mine. One day, one day.

In the Meantime...

I missed yesterday's challenge. I realize that. And I want to keep up. So, today I will do day two and so on. I don't wanna do two songs in one day, because that sort of defeats the purpose of it hahaha

So today's Song...
DAY 2... FAVORITE COVER SONG

John Lennon's Cover

Lazy Sunday

It's been quite the week. Today is a Lazy Sunday and I am reminded of how much I enjoy witchy shopping. I got some new candles and incense and I even got me a new pentagram which I am purifying as of right now.

If all goes as planned, I will be starting to write some stories soon. I am sort of psyched. I am still not sure if to write them here or what. I will opt in the "or what" category because I know myself far too much to be angry at me for not pulling through. One month left of school and I am already making plans.

1. I want to take a break from teaching.
2. I want to get back to the full feeling of writing.
3. I want to get purged from all evil (facebook)
4. I do want to get myself a new computer. This one is the school's computer. I still owe them a laptop (I am still not sure on how the hell I am gonna pay them that)

I will see Angie tomorrow. It's been almost a year.

:) Good vibrations. I want to start this blog with something I haven't done in a while.. I will start with the new 30 days of music challenge. I got this new list from a page...  So... I wanna start yes?

Favourite song with a colour in the title

Ice House -- "Electric Blue"

I find this song to be quite cool. Yeah, I know, I am retro. Who cares. I sure don't :P
